Well it finally dried up, I hope it moved down south. We have no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. the tomatoes look good for a change, I just picked three grocery bags full. I might even have to dig the sprinkler out next week if the forecast doesn't change. Are you getting any rain DSmith? I was hoping Irene would calm down before making lanfall and then dump gallons of water on Texas, looks like she isn't going to calm down or go anywhere near Texas either one. not looking good for the new yorkers. We did get rain day before yesterday. But it was short lived, and it and miss. It was nice the few minutes it lasted. I have an uncle that lives in New Jersey. Concerned about him. Don't know anyone in New York, but am really concerned. It's looking like it is going to be so bad.

We had a brief break in the temps, but it is right back up over 100 now, and dry as a bone. Got a good storm this morning, but very little liquid out of it, mostly a noisy light show, and a good one at that! Got a good soaking rain a couple of weeks ago, a few times, and it was very welcomed! But it is long used up, now.
No tomatoes here, but I do have a couple that are finally blooming. Sure hoping for a few fall ones. Gosh, MC, 3 bags full sounds like a lot! Mmmmm..... they must have been good!
Dsmith, have you heard from your friend in New Jersey? I have heard from my friend in New York several times and he is doing fine. I got a play-by-play blow as it was happening, lol. He was where he was safe, but could watch flood waters come up and down. Said it was hard to sleep with the wind rattling the windows. There was one 24-hour restaurant close to him that ended up staying open .... the employees couldn't get home when the transit systems closed down! A couple found someone with a car to come get them, but the rest were stuck there. They planned on sleeping in the room over their restaurant that had recently become vacant and take turns working. It was very interesting getting updates every couple of hours directly from New York City (he lives a couple of blocks from Times Square).
I hope everyone it Irene's path is safe!
