Now here is the BEST thing I made today. It was a new recipe I'd never tried. I kept seeing this, so thought I'd try it. It is evil good. ;D ;D Tiger's Butter 1 lb Dark Chocolate 1 lb White Chocolate 1 cup peanut butter (chunky or creamy) Melt dark candy. When melted, spread in 9 x 13 pan. Next melt the white candy and stir in the peanut butter. Spread on top of the dark candy. Run knfe through layers to create marble effect. Cut or break into squares. (can refrigerate for 30 minutes to speed up the cooling )

Sounds very good, but I wouldn't be able to eat it, unless I substituted the dark chocolate with milk chocolate. Seems like anymore dark chocolate just tears my stomach up something fierce.

Dark chocolate does my stomach the same way...I like coco and sometimes it does also..It is the same with chocolate milk which I do enjoy and drink.

I actually did sub milk chocolate. I do have tendency to stray away from the original recipe. I do a lot of my cooking without recipes, like to create. Dennis and I have been trying to eat some dark chocolate though. Supposed to be good for the heart and all. Any kind of chocolate tears up my stomach though, as do lots of things. I keep antacid pills all the time. I hate rolaids and tums. Don't like the flavor. But I get an awesome antacid pill at Sam's club that works great. I do have to take many a day though.

My Wife makes this stuff about this time every year. Sometimes I can talk her into using Andes Mints instead of plain chocolate. Pretty good stuff no matter what you use.

I make a recipe just like it says the first time I try it, after that, well anything can happen, LOL. My mom and I decided since my son Allen loves to cook, we are going to put together a recipe book for him with all the recipes we used while he was growing up. Some of them are from my grandma in her handwriting, so we're going to put those in the book too. That'll be his Christmas present next year. We're going to do it kinda like a scrapbook, should be lots of fun and I'm sure he's going to get a kick out of it. She and I talked about that my grandma made a lot of things, didn't have the recipes written down. She wouldn't share the stuff with us and now we can't get it "just right". It's a shame when things like that are lost to following generations, especially some of her Portuguese recipes that she made her own way.

That is such a good idea. He will love it. Over the years, I have kept any recipe that is good. I will make comments on it for future use. I figured my kids would love to have my recipes when I'm gone. Funny thing is, I started doing it so long ago, that the one cook book is now several books. I have one for vegetables, one for cakes, one for pies, one for breads, etc. Plus it helps me to hang on to recipes we really like. When I'm stumped on what to cook, I just pull up the old tried and true ones.

I do the same, some of my cookbooks you can hardly read the original recipe, LOL. We think he will really enjoy the cookbook, he's always calling me up asking me how I cook something. He does a lot of the cooking for he and his fiance, because he enjoys it and she lets him, LOL. They got the household chores shared out evenly.

And that is the way it should be between couples.

I agree with MC, that's the way it should be, chores divided. My other son's wife don't lift a finger round the house. He works all week, does all the laundry, cooking (course she can't cook worth a darn anyway, so no loss), cleans the house and does the yard work. Now THAT's unfair. Lazy hag I ever did see. I never understood why he puts up with her lazy ways.

I do a lot of my cooking just winging it also. Guess I should write it down as I go due to sometimes it turns out fantastic and the next is what the heck happened. First time I made chili from scratch, even the nieghbors dog woukldnt eat it. I forced myself to eat all of it minus the dogs little bowl, rather than wasting it.
