I have used turtle boards to catch them in the South. Here in Ohio the use of turtle boards is very illegal to use.

I ate turtle one time it tasted like porkchops BUT it was soooo tuff I couldnt chew it. and after I got the bite torn off it was still red inside So I have never ate it again. Someone said they didnt fix it right Boy do I beleive that lol

Yep Mick been there and had the same thing happen, he just fried it up and it was still raw when he served it. You have to boil it for about eight hours before you fry it up, then it's delish and tender

If it tastes like porkchops than I'll just go to the store and get porkchops but tell people I'm having turtle and they will let me have all of it for myself.

Man was something wrong with the way you guys had eaten it Definately not right to have been raw. I could never see waiting 8 hours of just boiling either. When I fry up leatherback, I just take it raw to skillet......fry it good and eat it up. Not tough at all. Snapper when we have any raw just deep fry it. The soup meat we shred and cook up throughout the year and keep it in the freezer until it's time for turtle soup day ;D

I do beleive it was the people who cooked it for us well in my case that is didnt know what they were doing it was really thick. Maybe if there is another chance to eat it I hope its someone who knows how to cook. Oh yea and not be drunk when cooking would probably help. lol

I have never had to boil turtle I like to bread and fry them then put them in a electric skillet or crockpot with some onion and cream of chicken soup and let it slow cook for about 4 hours then serve over rice ;D ;D
