Wow, I just noticed bass hasn't been brought up> Here in Texas, that seems to be the choice fishing. Bass clubs, bass tourneys, everything bass. We don't really bass fish much. I get confused on how to use each lure. I know how to use some of them, but there are so many different ones to fish som many different ways. Anybody here bass fish much. We have occasionally and caught a few. But we still love our cats.

I use to do a lot of bassing, but have carpel tunnel now and it hurts after so many casts. Use to throw around a 1000 casts when out for the day, now just a few, but love my catting.

Ya Texas girl i mean gal!! I bass fish more than anything. Try this use the rig I sent you single or double. Add another hook below the sinker with about 15 inches of leader with a size 4 baitholder hook.Use crawlers hooked through the head and leave the tail hand down. Use the BWAB and reel it in 10 feet after the cast fairly fast jigging as you reel. Stop reeling nd give the bobber some slack so it resets and leave it set for 20 seconds and continue it the whole way back to shore stoppin and reeling! If the bass are hitting you will get a hit every cast or every other cast. I have caught 600 bass in one summer on the bobber with many doubles and tripples. If you use minnows just leave it set and maybe reel it in ten feet once! No one will out fish you for bass with night crawlers with the bobber!

I was trying for the pro circuit years ago . Had my shoulder dislocated for the third time plus carpal tunnel and can not cast as much as is required. Catch bass now for bait like Doug and others ...

Yeah, plugging, jigging, spinning, whatever it is makes it pretty difficult if you have a bad neck and back. My neck pain is really getting into my arms and they are hurting now too. So bass fishing is hard. We can't use bass for bait here. If it is a game fish, it is illegal to use.

Catfishing is not everything. I like fishing for crappie perch, walleye trout bass and catfish last! too many days cats don't bite and I like catching something every time I go out! A five pound bass sn't bad or a 7 pound muskee! Suckers are good bait for cats even small catfish make good bait! Stripers get pretty big 20 30 pound!

I like to fish for different types but use live bait to fish with..When I was trying the tournys I most always had 6 to 8 rods set up and ready to use...That way it was faster than trying to keep tieing on the different lures, plugs and spinners....Just gave a bunch of bass tackle away a couple of months ago.Got tired of having to move it around down in the basement....

In Pa. I don't think you can use a game fish for bait and that should be the case everywhere. I would also put crappie o the no bait list!
