Last week I was asked by a couple different folks how I fish liver with a single hook. I told em I cheated. which got weird looks. I carry some fine copper wire in my tackle bag bout 6 or 8 inches long. Just run it thru the hook eye an twist. Then glob on yer liver and wrap the wire around and around the liver. It stays on an wont fly off when ya cast out and the fish have a harder time suckin it off yer hook. Also works great with shad guts or other baits thats hard to keep on yer hook.

Very good tip. Sewing thread will also work very well for keeping liver on the single hook. Keep giving out these free lessons ;)and I will not be able to win the tourney easy... The only way to learn is by watching and asking questions.

I would thing that a nylon stocking or a screen door made of netting material forming a ball and clipped onto the hook so as to make the hook close the small sack . Then squeese the sack and the liver will ooze through will work very well! anykind of thin material will work as a bag for spleen or liver just like it does for cheese! You can also get a round cotton about a 1.5 inch diameter very thin with 80 in a package for a buck. These can be further thined in half. Squeese the liver so its all over the cotton wafer and you have a great hook holding material that the fish will love just like a comunnion wafer with meat attached! they won't hurt the fish even if it swallows the whole thing! Fold it in half than fold it again and put the hook through it. It will be like candy to a fish but stay on the hook!
