Hope you can get out mc. Here it's just rain, rain and more rain for the next week. Oh yeah, and some windy thrown in too. Today there are flood warnings for the foothills. I live by a river, but haven't seen it ever flood by my place.

Tomorrow is our bunus day of gun hunting for deer, so I'll be out in the woods at sunrise freezing my tail off. Dave

5 1/4 inches of rain in 24 hours. And LOTS more rain on the way. Flood watch till Monday. They're expecting up to 10' of snow above 7000 feet (still no snow expected at my level thank goodness). It's in the high 40's to low 50's for daytime temps. ds, I live in central California, but believe me, there's lots of rain in Southern California too, that's why they have such bad mud slides and so much trouble with them after all their big fires. Know what you mean about what people think, I laugh at the tourists who are surprised it's not always sunny here (right now it's dark enough that my porch light is still on, like dusk, and it's 9am, LOL). Guess we're going to get winds today too, glad I don't have to go out again till Monday, and if the weather is too bad, I'm canceling the tutoring sessions Monday and Tuesday. This weekend is sposed to be the worst of the storms we'll have this week, but we're predicted to have rain every day.

I thought about you today Buzz. Weather said the rain was really heavy in California. Said ya'll have to be on the watch for mudslides. And of course, all ya'll up north are dealing with all of this cold percip. And here we are sitting here wondering when winter is really gonna hit. There must be something to this el nino and la nina thing. It always seems to hold true. They said we would have a dry warm winter here because one of the other of them is in effect.

We definitely have above normal precipitation for our area, which is good after the drought we had before last year. Our water tables are still not up to "normal" levels, so we need all the water we can get before the next drought cycle hits. Just emptied another 2 3/4" from my rain gauge, so since the rain started on Friday, we've had 8", with still more coming. But looks like it might clear out after Wednesday instead of lasting all week like they first predicted.

Pretty day out today .Reached a little above freezing and most of the snow is gone from the tree limbs. Still bunches on the ground..Can see bare spots on the ground around the pine trees though. Not much problems getting in and out of the drive yet!! That makes me happy as I worry bout not being able to get out to the road sometimes. 31 outside at this time. Haven't watched the weather report for today yet..
