Didn't want anyone to worry, hadn't thought that ya'll had put out a search party for me, but nice to be thought of, HUGS. Last night (Christmas), the skies opened again and instead of "showers" it poured, just as I was driving home from my folks. Along with the rain, I kept hitting patches of fog (not normal for up here, fog is usually in the valley). So made for an interesting 4 mile drive home, watching for the big puddles, the fog and the bambi's, but I made it okay. Luckily hardly any traffic on the road. Got 1 1/2" of rain overnight, so it was quite a bit. Today though was sunny and beautiful, though a bit "cool". Never got above 45 up at my folks place. But Allen, Angela and 2 of her nieces came up and spent the day and we had a lot of fun and another day of too much food. Hope everyone had a safe holiday and has a safe week!

The drive was short, thank goodness, and I was thankful I wasn't coming home from the valley ove Deadwood, THAT woulda scared me. No big drop offs between my place and my parents. The biggest problems are the idjits who drive to fast around the curves up there, and the Bambis that shoot out in front of you sometimes at night. So I drive under the speed limit a lot of times when it's bad weather at night. But sometimes, that drive sure seems like the longest 4 miles I've ever drivin, LOL. My dad and I were talking and I'm gonna just start carrying a duffle with some jammies and change of clothes and stuff. That way if the weather "goes south" on me when I'm up there I'll just stay. We keep a pretty close eye on what the weather is doing when I'm at their place. They're high enough to get snow a lot of times, about 1000 feet higher than my place.

Cuz they're that kinda people? I wanna see HB going out in his pink sequined heels, with his pink sequined dress, taking it off and doin' nudie snow angels. I'd have a buzzards eye view on that one! ROFLMBO (I gotta hava talk with dsmith about handling snakes! Only way to handle em is smash em with a shovel head!!!!!)
Rain, rain, nasty cold rain, that's what we got today, and snow clouds. Sposed to snow tomorrow, now they're saying could be down to 1000 feet. Will only be maybe 4 inches, so I can't complain too much, cept I still can't go out and drive in it, LOL.

Only good snake is a dead un dsmith, LOL. I don't even like snakeskin purses, boots, belts or hatbands! Just creeps me out. Can't even go in the snake house at the local zoo.
Still no snow at my house, but it's snowing up at my mom's, just 4 miles from me. I expect it will snow here during the night.

lol. We find snake skins all of the time in our yard. Mostly in sheds. My son will get them and put them where our daughter will find them. It really makes her mad because she is so scared of them. I think he has finally gotten the hint and has quite doin it. She had planned on moving out here, but won't now because of the snakes. Said when they buy a place, it will be in town. My mom used to say if you touched the skin, you'd go blind. Old wives tale.

We got rattlers round here, but I haven's seen one (Knock on wood) in the complex where I live. But I've seen several over the years at my folks 11 acres. My mom and I saw one one time caught in the net my dad put over the strawberry plants. We both started hollerin and squealin and my dad came running with a shovel. He beat that thing with that shovel, till he realized that it had been caught awhile and was already dead.
