RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a short downpour!!!!!!!!!!!! I told everyone that if it rained, I'd dance in it. Haven't had rain since Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had washed all my work shoes, and went out on the front porch to put them out to dry. Then it hit. I went running through the house to get my shoes. Dennis is running behind me asking what is wrong. Me and Hyde go running out the front door and spin in the rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope there is more where that came from. It has stopped. But there are a few little puddles. So that is what rain looks and feels like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really glad that you got some rain down your way...Now if there could be some more to go with it.

Yeah, it lasted about 5 minutes. But they are saying that maybe at the end of next week we MIGHT get some rain. Here's hoping.

Count me in, too. I'll Rain Dance for both of us, dsmith. Getting all dried out here, again, too. The last several rains all veered around us. Gets so close we can smell it, then "poof" it slides by. Just North of us got clobbered last night, but nothing here. I'm so happy you finally got some rain. I will pray you get some more to go with it.

Another heck of a rain storm here last evening. Strong winds and very heavy rain for about 45 minutes. 1/4 inch hail for a couple of minutes. Lightening took out the power sub station down the road and power was out from about 6:45 till I left for work at 9:00 last night. Sorry dsmith but no more rain dances for a couple of days ..Must have been too big of a dance that I performed yesterday for you. News said Dallas recieved 3 inches yesterday. Did any reach over to your way? Guess I'll do another one for you and tentfire this afternoon.

We got a good drencher night before last, about midnight. Tons of lightening, some hail, lots of wind. Lots of damage in town. Took the roof off a convient store, and damage to a radio station. Crazy, I drove right past all of that on the way to work, and never saw it or knew about it. Of course it is dark when I go to work. Going home, I did see all the damage. But we did get a lot of rain, but could use a ton more. Last night they got slammed south of here. Hopefully the tank got a lot last night. It's a great start.

We keep getting a lot of rain up here abouts, but water level in the ground is still on the low side. Heck they cut down most of the trees and no fence rows or nothing to slow the runoff down. Then they wonder why it's so dry around here. Take everything out then farm half the ditch also. The Bible says, not to till your land all the way to the edge of your property, but alas greed wins out.

Yes, Papa , it does every time. It is the same way around here. Clear all the land to build new places and leave nothing to catch and hold the run off from rain or snowmelt..Rivers and creeks have not been at normal level since last year. the runoff is causing more erosion of the banks and the silt is filling in the beds of the river and creeks. The washed out trees cause the streams to back up in turn causing more washouts along the banks. This in turn causes more flooding. Greed and more greed.
