I was checking out the DNR website this week, and they have greatly improved the available maps, and also made them asier to find. I'm not sure when they did this, it's been a while since I have visited the site, bt you can now get downloadable PDF files of most lakes in the state. When you get to the DNR site click on Fishing and you'll get several options one of which is Fishing maps. When you get there chose your lake, you'll get a poor quality map and some general information about that lake. at the bottom of the shown map is a link for an "enhanced fishing map" that will take you to a PDF that you can save, enlarge etc. Since I use topo maps regularly to find fish, it's nice to see some better quality maps for free on the state website.
