Have been hitting Tappan Lake (Ohio) quite a few times the last few weeks on crappie fishing and shad gathering missions. Well the crappies have been out in pretty good numbers, but the shad have been very scattered. The lake has been low still from lack of rain, but it's still not right not getting any. Well, today(4-5) I headed to Salt Fork Lake(Ohio) for crappie and Shad. the water was muddy so the crappie were tightlipped. The good news is the Shad were out big time. In short order, I got around 50 shad. They weren't around the bridges like usual though, they were along a wind blown shore. Made perfect sense for anyone that has any It took me a little while to figure it out

Good to hear it, I've had days when I couldn't find the shad either, so maybe it has nothing to do with Dad And I are planning to fish Salt fork this year, been wanting to get over there for a couple of years and haven't been able to with Dad's health issues. This summer looks to be a better deal. Dad is trying to talk Mom into a 21' fishing Barge right now, if he does that we'll be able to spend more time on the water without making shore for rest and refreshment. Salt fork will be the first long trip we make. Dave

I'll try to meet up with yuns at the boat ramp just to say hi! I may even get my boat out down there and do some cattin with you guys so to speak!
