I never liked peat pots since they dry ut too fast and are too expensive! I like the 6.5 ounce styrofoam cups. Punch a hole in the bottom and place the cups in a tray that will hold a inch of water. Feed therm from the bottom. Easy to use and cheap 50 for $1 at almost anywhere! I usually use compost or good garden dirt and strain it. Add a little peat or sand to the mix and place your 3 inch or bigger plan n the foam and you ave a nice plant quick. The light reflection off the wite foam gives more light to the plant and they will grow faster! The foam also keeps more heat on the plant to grow faster alog with holding in the moisture! so what are the three best things in the country Duck tape , liquid nail and styrofoam are the best things you can buy! You can also take a broken syrofoam cup and put it in the blender with water and mix the ground up foam with your soil so it does not pack down or with your worms for airation and insulation from heat! Even the egg cartains can be ground up and mixed with the soil! Also try to take a paper shredder and mix the shredded paper in your compost or wet it and put it in with your worms!

Thanks. We have a paper shredder, and I never thought about using it to plant. Makes sense.
