The best time is after a rain the plants will catch quick. Cloudy days are also great. I like to dig a hole and fill the bottom upwith compost or spent manure or mushroom manure then put the tomato or plant in the hole with no fertilizer just organic stuff! The plant will take off fast. Also if your garden has a slope at the top of the slope either start a compost or place a pile of manure along the upper boarder. The rains will wash the good stuff into the garden all the time! Throw a match in the hole for the peppers for sulphur and it will grow better! White plastic aroundpeppers does wonders!

The corn which I transplanted is really taking off very good. Did not loose any of the plants. The other seed corn is up about 3 inches. The tomatoe and pepper plants are doing good. Cucumbers are up also about 2 inches. Watermellon is just starting to break up through the ground.
