Im just wandering what everyone thinks the best bait to use for catching catfish?? I have heard a couple of different things but I just wanted some more opinions!!

Liver and shrimp is very good for channelcats .Nightcrawlers also work well..Blue cats and shovelhead perfer live or cut bait. I try to use something that is natural to the waters that I'm fishing.

My preference for Channels is shad or creek chubs, whole and fresh but dead. I have also done well with Shrimp, and severl types of prepared stink baits. I quit using night crawlers not because they don't work, but because I tend to cath far less big fish with them.
I've not done enough Flathead and Bluecat fishing to really have on opinion yet. dave

I got a 26 inch channel cat on a leech. The funny thing was as I reeled it in the catfish hit like a bass and hit it about 5 feet from shore!
