So do snakes bother you? We fish in a lake that is over-run by snakes. They come up to the boat and check us out. Used to freak me out, but now they don't bother me as much. We asked some tubers if they weren't scared of being bit. They said no

Normally they will not bother people unless they feel threatened...I have had them drop into the boat just to move to the other end.I always carried a forked stick about three feet long to use to pin them down to pick them up..

I had a snake in my canoe I asked him to leave but he said NO so i capsized the canoe lost a tacklebox and two rods and spam near drowned trying to get back in the canoe now I check to see if I have any boarders now before I put in the water

Reminds me of one time I was inna canoe race. Seven miles of a small river. Right off the bat a couple next to us crowded us into a overhangin tree. Was perty much aggravating. I thought then, "what I would give for a sack of rubber snakes"! ;D That woulda gave em sumpthin to do besides crowd folks off an slow em down. Ended up we placed 7th the first day outta bout 50 canoes. That was back when I was in better shape. And "round" wasnt it.  |

We lost a perfectly good wooden boat one evening when a couple of moccasins dropped in the boat while my Dad and Uncle Bobby were running our trotlines Uncle Bobby was doing a Dance we could see it from the campfire on the bank when he pulled his 22 and fired 6 shots right thru the bottom of the boat I don't think he hit either of the snakes and we were fishing in an old quarry so it was 80ft deep right at the edge so that boat was history in a 1000 years someone will dig that boat up and scratch their heads wondering what happened LOL ;D ;D
