I have been buying seeds for many years even in bulk! The seed companies started selling 20 or 25 seeds per pack in the last few years. Why are they doing this is because people don't know what they are buying for their money! Lets take tomato seeds for instace. There are 10 to 11 thousand seeds per ounce in a regular size tomato. There are app 28 grams per ounce. A gram will be 300 or more seeds. 30 seeds would be 1/10 of a gram! Some company sell seeds in milligrams which is 1/1000 of a gram! so to get 30 tomato seeds you would by 1/10 of a gram or 100 milligrams or 100 mg. Usuall tomatoes lettuce and the small seeds are sold by mgs! Hybrid seeds usually cost about 10 times as much as standard varities! The small tomatoes have smaller seeds! When you buy a regular tomato and pay a $1 for 20 seeds you are getting much less than if you buy by the mg. 200mg of tomatoes would be about 60 seeds as compared to only 20 or 30 by count. So always look for companies that sell by the mg. not the number of seeds! Also remember hybrids are usually better but not always! You can save hybrid seeds but they may revert back to the two or more cross plants the next year! Hope this helps the next time you buy seeds in the package!

That is good to know and I didn't know that...Had never really thought of it in those terms before.
