the best way I found to clean any fish is to let someone else do it.

A slave or a woman!

I've never been wealthy enough to consider owning a slave, and since Dad raised me to be a gentleman, I certainly never expected any woman I knew to clean my fish or Game. Everything wen't into the house ready to cook, Mom (Or any other Woman) was never expected to do the dirty work.
Might be a good practice for all men to show women some respect in those situations and most others.

I agree and I always cleaned the fish! I always tried to make it easier for my mother who worked from day to night to take care of us! There is no one any better than your mother from my experience! As a hight school student I walked or run home 1-1/2 miles for lunch every day to eat with my mother. I also brought her a gift usually every week mostly flowers I picked for her! I had track or football pratice every evening so I never got home till about 7 pm and always walked. Never missed one day of high school in 4 years a perfect record!

Thank you Daveedka for the respect for women. Your defense was greatly appreciated. I do help clean the fish. Because I choose to. Dennis and I do almost everything together. If we have a fun day fishing, I think we should both have to clean them. I usually do the gutting part and he does the filleting. It's just what we do

Bobber, We all love you, including me , But you sorta opened up that can o worms on the Women thing again, the rest of us just jumped in for the ride. I do appreciate the link on cleaning fish and will put it to the test the next time we have a mess of 2 pound channells to try it on. My Dad talked about a method he watched a guy use years ago that pulled the skin right off like a pair of Pantyhose, and this may very well be it. On bigger cats I like to slice the skin and fat off together, so likelyt won't use this method, but anything under 4 pounds it ought to be great. Dave
