I have a question about white gravy. The kind for potatoes and chicken fried steak. I said something to my mother in law about having to leave the butter out because of Dennis' health problems. She said she doesn't put butter in it. I've talked to several people. I've only found one person that puts butter in their gravy. It seems that most don't. I use milk, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and butter. So do ya'll put butter in your gravy when you cook it? ?

Nope, no butter. But I must (as the kids tell me) use Plaster of Paris. It will stick to yer ribs.

While I'm a firm believer that all great recipe's start with a stick of real butter, I can honestly say that I don't add butter to gravy of any kind, just the Taters that the gravy goes on. Dave

Dale's gravy used to be great. Since the Dr. put me on this DIEt, lots of the great tastes have gone from food. I hope she still uses butter in her gravy. As I said before it is great.
