Anybody ever heard of the huge rattlesnake roundup in Sweetwater, Tx? It was this weekend, they have it every year. People supposedly come from all over the world for it. PETA has sure given them a hard time about it. They have protestors every year. We have gone several times. The past few years, we didn't pay to go inside to see the snake pits. There are a lot of awesome flea markets around it we like to go to. We didn't go this year, as ya'll know went fishing instead. The past few years, the flea markets were so crowded, you could not hardly move. We decided to quite going, we just do not like crowds.
But I was just wondering if yall had heard about it.

I've heard of it, and would love to go some time, I get a kick out of snakes, and enjoy seeing them. IT's been years since I've eaten Rattlesnake, so that would be part of the trip too. Dave

Have been there a dozen times or so before moving up here. Participated in it twice 1969 and 1970. Was bit twice, once about 10 years old and yep in 1970. Was playing with one after watching it eat...It swallowed a rabbit and I picked it up thinking that it could not bite..Was wrong and got it on the right thigh. Fried rattlesnake is very tasty...Has a flavor sorta like fried chicken....

I have eaten the snake meat there. First couple times it was good. Last time it was kinda greasy, and it was really gross. If ya ever want to go to it Dave, you got a place to stay here. We'd be glad to put ya'll up and we could go together. It is Usually the second weekend in March.
