My weed eater went out, and I was gonna get a new one. Today, Dennis went and bought one of those mower/trimmer things. It's kinda a weed eater on wheels. He never has liked me weed eating. I do have degenerative discs, and after my back surgery haven't been the same. But I do what needs to be done. I try to hide it when I hurt, but he can always tell. So he got this so weed eating would be easier on me. It really makes me nervous. It is really powerful. And I am worried I might cut down things I don't plan on. Once I get used to it, it will probably be great. But I really have to watch the dogs and such don't get around it. He is sweet. He takes care of me.

That is very sweet of him. Maybe he thinks that by doing that for you it will leave more time for him to fish. ;D

Awwww, that is sweet.....
I have seen those and wondered about them. Yes, they do look powerful, but look easier than holding a weed eater up in the air. Course, I would think there were places you couldn't get with one that you could with a regular one. Sorry to hear about your back. That must be really painful. And when your back hurts, it seems to make you feel rough all over. Careful about pushing it, though. I learned the hard way that if you try to 'tuck away' the pain and ignore it, your body is still feeling it, your blood pressure will jump way up after awhile(sneaks up on you), and that, in turn, will raise your heart attack risk, yep, all from ignored pain.
For my birthday last year I got one of those rechargeable weed eaters. It sure is a lot lighter than an electric or gas one, and all you do is push a button to turn it on! It doesn't hold a charge too awfully long, but with two batteries to change out, it will go about as long as I can, lol. I really like it.

My friend wears a back wrap around velcrow support when he works and it seems to help his back! I know its hot in Texas but it may help! Also I use a plastic connector on my weedeater that is about 4 inches long and it last for a long time. The advantage is also its not long like some of the string cutters and will not cut things that you don't want cut! They sell a adapter for them to connect to most weed eaters!

Dennis had tried making one of those homemade straps like that. I just didn't like it much. He actually hid the key to his riding lawn mower. It was on my keyring, and he took it. Because I'd get out there and mow with it. The ground is bumpy and jars him around a lot. He didn't like it jarring my back around, so took the key. He knows I won't use the push mower on that much land. He does take care of me. But as ya'll can see, it is pretty much a full time job. I do thing that I know I shouldn't, but my daddy raised me to be a go getter and not a quiter. One of these days, that is gonna bite me. Dennis knows it, and trys to keep up with my sha-nag-agains.
