Every year the local Booster Club for the High school sells Mulch as a fund raiser. It's a pretty good deal, It's $4.50 a bag you pay in advance and then the kids from the high school deliver it right to your driveway. I had a scout meeting yesterday morning and when I got home our mulch was in the Drive. Since the weather was perfect I went to work and even skipped the Gun show yesterday in order to keep at it. I trimmed the hedges, hung a new bird feeder, re-cut the borders around the lilacs in the back yard, and mulched them. Re-cut the boudaries around the mailbox, and planted Bulb Flowers for this summer and next Spring, Mulched that area then planted 36 assorted Viola's for my wonderful Wife. Starting Tuesday I will work on the rest of the mulch beds, get the garden tilled this week and ready for the maters, and generally spruce up the palce for Spring. I love to lanscape and plant Flowers. The brownie points really flow into my account fast when the flowers start blooming and the property looks nice. Susans favorite Flowers are the lilacs, and I have two really nice ones growing in the back yard, when the breeze is right, the smell of the lilacs comes right in the back window. There is some sort of party here today (Dsmith would understand) so it is nice to have a few things looking better when folks arrive. Dave

I come from a long heritage of Gardeners, My Grandfathers both raised everything they ate pretty much despite both have 2 jobs and sometimes three. MY Grandpa Sullenberger had almost an acre, at the end of the garden he raised every kind of Flower you could imagine and everyday he'd cut fresh Flowers for Grandma. I don't go quite that far with it, but I've always made it a point to plant lots of flowers and keep the landscaping nice, I like the way the property looks, and Susan loves the effort. Flowers really do earn me a lot of Brownie points.

I love planting in the spring too. I take great pride in my yard. Dennis got me some awesome petunia pots for my bd. He knows I love hanging petunias. I wish he enjoyed working in the yard too. It would be fun if he did.

Also worked all weekend in my several gardens! i started some cosmos flowers that I think look nice! I stated planting them three years ago and love how they fill out with many flowersmost of the summer! . I plant the 2 to 3 footers! I start them from seed! Flowers seem to make people happy! I will have several hundred sun flowers this year. I have three boxes up about 6 inches now but still not ready to plant outside! May have a frost yet for another month! You can't beat good mulch. What kind are you getting!
