Does anyone know how to get rid of moles? They have taken over my nice lawn with the tunnels they make....

My Grandfather never could get rid oif them, but I've heard over and over that if you use Grub-ex, When the grubs are all completely dead the moles will leave. Gurneys used to sell mole traps that would spike them when they walked through, I'm sure there are other traps and killers out there, but I haven't tried any of them. Dave

So, I need to get a spray to kill the grubs in the ground.Do the moles eat the grubs or do they eat the grass roots...I mean that there are tunnels every where...

Yanno, I bet it is the grubs. I never had any mole problem in my pig pen. Or you could run sheep in yer yard. the vibrations from they're lil feets pitter/patterin should run em off. Or raise a pig in yer yard. or let yer dog dig em up. Or blast em out with M-80s. Or take out some stress and blast em when ya see em pushing up a mound. or, hmm, I'll think of sumpthin.

Moles eat Grubs, according to what I've heard, so if you get rid of the grubs, the moles will go away eventually. eventually is the key word here I think. If you watch Caddy Shack, it will also give you some tips on gophers that could easily apply to Moles as well. Dave

Yep, moles eat grubs. And getting rid of the grubs will help considerably, but not completely. Moles also eat some roots, too. Some plants they will actually grab hold of the root and pull it through!! (ever look closely at the detail on a moles little hands? they are able to grasp) They don't like all plants, but there are some that they do, usually in your garden. Some of my radishes are now dead leaves laying on the ground with no radish underneath! I have always had moles out here, and some years they are worse than others. This year started out REAL BAD. Couldn't take more than a few steps out in the yard before I sunk in a tunnel. Then the unexpected happened and my moles greatly thinned out (though there are still a few). On each side of my yard I have an owl aviary (for those that don't know, I take in owls that have been injured so badly that they can't be released back into the wild). At the moment I have one owl in each one. For some unknown reason, the moles have started tunneling into the aviaries! I haven't been able to figure out why other than maybe because there are water dishes in there - meat based food - aviaries are heavily shaded - who knows. But that was the wrong thing for the moles to do .... on their part. So for the past few weeks now, I have been finding bits and pieces of mole remains close to my very satisfied owls! Sure did save a chunk there for a few weeks on my feeding costs. ;D And I have seen very few mole tunnels lately - though I am sure there is probably a pregnant one left out there that will start a new crop soon. But when that happens, I sure hope they, too, seek shelter in with the owls. So, if you want to get rid of your moles, get a pet owl. Extra note: I have heard that putting some kind of metal rod down in the ground that creates some kind of vibration will get rid of them, but my memory is foggy as to the details I once read on this. Good luck getting rid of them!

moles should make good catfish bait! Pu a hook out with a wax worm on and catch them with a hook. Put it in a small hole near a rock so a cat can't get it! Use a small hook like size 12 an you will catch them!We use to do thet with rats when we fished a night! Mouse traps and sticky traps are also great! I caught moles on penutbutter also! Try a small piece of raw bacon! Put three bricks in the form of a little houde on some old dirt or leaves givng about a 6 inch opening so no cats or dogs get in and you will catch mice and moles!

Thanks for the tips! My owls have fallen down on the job and the moles have gotten out of hand! They killed one of my new blueberry bushes, my rhubarb, and ate a bunch of my potatoes. It's going to look like a remake of the caddy shack movie around here pretty soon!
