Whoo hoo. We have baby zuchinni and summer squash. Cant wait. I have been so hungry for squash, and refuse to pay $1.69 lb at the grocery store. I make an awesome squash dish. I'll have to post it in the recipe section.

I put a double row of corn and zucc in together! I planned to seperate the zuccs but did not. Now the 15 foot row of corn a zuccs is about 18 inches high. I think the corn will sill grow above the zuccs. The soil s really rich and I think both will grow well. i usually am eatting zuccs by now but I got the early ones eaten by a small black bug!

I'm jealous! I have white patty pan squash that should be ready, but my darn chickens are plucking the blooms off as they bloom out! Fighting them for the tomatoes, too. This week, they started eating the green ones! They wiped out my best ever onion patch and not sure if I will be able to save any of the potatoes. I caught the lil suckers digging up the potatoes and eating them as hard and fast as they could go! Never raised the meat chickens before, and don't think I will again. They layers have never been this bad. But I do have tons of Lambs Quarter ready and it is delicious! Yes, they are eating it, too, but can't reach up very high on it.

No frost yet and my Zuccs zre doing good! I even have some new sunflowers coing up. I put the cover on my green house this weekend and will put more plants in there before the frost destroys them. I am hoping to keep plants all winter this year without any heat except for the stored water! I kept a large spike plant alive for two years without freezing in my solar green house!

Frank, What do you recomend for winterizing blackberry plants which are planted in a double row? Plants are 2 feet apart with 5 in each row...These are thornless plants which were planted last fall.
