Grrr. For several days, wasps have been flying all around on our front porch. Seen as many as 8 at a time. We have looked under all the eaves, in the bushes, every nook and cranny for the nest. CAN NOT find one. There has to be one somewhere, everytime we go out, there are wasps. Somebody is gonna get stung. The grandkids are here this weekend, and I hate to see them be the ones stung. Is there any secret to finding a wasp nest? I try to watch where they fly to. But they just fly around in circles.

This time of year they are looking for a new nest location for the winter...They are known to nest in the ground around the base of a tree or shrub.

They do seem to be looking for something. Fly around, land, dig around on what they land on, then fly some more. Seem lost

That's funny. They actually did a story on the local news the other day about how bad the wasps are right now. I guess it's not just us. They said the "workers" are leaving the nexts and looking for a winter home. Backs up what Mc said. Funny we never noticed it before. But the news even said they are really bad.

There was a mild summer and plenty of rain to keep things sorta cool down your way...They should start slowing down some in the next couple of weeks...They have here already.

Watch and see if they look like they're climbing into the walls through a crack dsmith. I've seen em build nests in the walls. My dad had a lot of them this year too.
