Syrup pie

Years ago, in the bakery, one of the guys forgot to put the pecans in the pecan pie. Yeah, I know. Anyway, the boss at the time said that he used to eat them that way as a kid and called it Syrup pie. Well, Dennis lOVES them. It's kinda tradition now that my daughter makes him one at Thanksgiving. This year, she burned it to a crisp. Yet she was so proud of it cause it was for dad. He hugged her and told her how much he appreciates and loves it. But it is pretty much black. I said it is the thought that counts. There is a lot of love baked into that pie.

Really, that sounds perty good. I have wondered if you could make one without the nuts and it taste the same? I just can't hardly eat anything with nuts on it anymore. And if theres a piece of a shell inna semi load, I'll get it.

It's just too sugary for me. But Dennis really loves them.

Pecan pie is my favorite and I can not eat nuts . Would like to find a bakery around here that could make this pie for me..

I never thought of trying that. May give it a try for Christmas. Was gonna bake a Walnut pie using the pecan pie recipe and substitute walnuts instead. Although...........................if I make a pecan pie, my dad'll do just about anything for me, ROFL.
