We have this ongoing challenge between the two of us. Who can make the better steak. So far, we've made good 'uns but not great ones. How do you fix your steaks. We don't grill outdoors very much.

Why not grill outside much? With all that mesquite wood and you guys do not use it! We grill steak and shrimp at least once each month, even with the snow outside the grill gets fired up and used.

We just figure by the time we get things going, I could already have it done. It does taste so good outside though.

put the steak in the broiler as close as you can get when you see the blood on top of the steak turn it over and watch for the blood again then pull it out and enjoy

The more it is cooked , the more of the protein and nutrients are lost if on an open grill. Use a hot closed griddle type of grill ( like what you would use to cook pancakes on) it will seal the meat so as not to loose the juices. Of course doing that and you do not get the smoke flavoring that makes a steak great...

Have you tried the smoke flavoring that is in the stores? Mc Cormick has a product called Grill Mates Mesquite that is very good.We use it on most of our meat when grilling...
