My mom and dad get to go see Willie Nelson at the local Indian Casino in January. Would love to go see him, but the tickets are $75 - $125/person, just too steep for me. I did get to go see George "No Show" Jones in Reno several years ago, and his show lasted 1/2 hour past what it was supposed to be. Really enjoyed seeing him. ;D

Willie was here last month, but didn't get to go. He was arrested on the border just a few days before the concert for pot, so everyone wondered if it would be canceled. But he still made it, one of the girls at work went. We saw George Jones in concert many years ago. Also Alabama. Good concerts. Oak Ridge boys are supposed to be here next month. We want to go and also take Dennis' mom and dad. But we haven't heard the price yet. There is a telethon here every year in January. They will bring a big name like that in and charge 500 dollars and up for tickets. If so, we for sure won't be going. I always say, they would raise more money if they made the price were the "normal" person could go and not just the rich. They would sell more tickets. But they didn't ask me.

Some of the concert prices are way too high. If people stopped going the prices would come down....

Yep, the prices are too high. I got to see Alan Jackson several years ago at the Mid-State Fair. What a great show! As he was singing "Midnight in Montgomery", there was a falling star (concert is outside in one of the arenas). Poor Willie, always getting picked up for something by the law, LOL.

I LOVE the Oak Ridge Boys! I would love to see one of their concerts some day.
That is soooo true. Too bad people can't figure this out. The same applies to groceries and everything else. If people would get 'reasonable set prices' in their mind as to what they are willing to pay for things and firmly stick to it, the whole cost of living would come down.

Tentfire , I totally agree with you. Prices are made because of "supply and demand" on most part. If the demand is high so then are the prices. If supply is large and demand is low then so is the prices. This is true in most cases. If people would refuse to pay the high inflated prices then they would come down in MOST cases. Fuel is one which people must have and is hard to control the way it is set up. The Government needs to prohibit speculation on fuel and food. These are done in Chicago in most parts and not on Wall Street. Another thing is that all stock dividends need to be capped at a reasonable amount. The same with the cost of buying stock and the stock must be held for a number of years before being resold. The biggest thing is the free trade agreements with other countries. The free trade should be based on dollar for dollar and not on the way they are set now. Example is that if China wants to export 100 billion in product to the US then they must buy 100 billion from the US. Any company which sends jobs overseas should be taxed as if those jobs were being done in the US plus a penalty tax for sending them overseas. Each and every job should be set at the same "fair" minimum wage with a cost of living increase built in. This is also true for those which are on Social Security. If a person / couple has more than $250,000 in assets then they should not be able to draw any Social Security. Any person / couple which liquidates any assets within 10 years of Social Security age would be denied until after 12 years past the liquidation. ;D Maybe I should run for President this next time around in 2012.

You sure couldn't do any worse than the politicians MC! I have my limits on what I will spend for something. If it's over what I consider reasonable, I just don't buy it. Good thing I can live without meat! Just chaps my hide though what we have to pay for meat and veggies. Veggies I gotta have, so sometimes I break down and pay more than I want to, depends on how long I've gone without it.
As for the concerts, the only ones I've gone to, other than the George Jones one my folks took me to in Reno, I go to the ones at the fairs. You can generally see the big name singers for a LOT less than you pay at most of the other shows. Wonder why?

Most times they signed contracts to do fairs and such before they became big names. Other times it is because they do not have the big draws as they once did and are trying to make a little money...
