I was complaining to my son the other day about how slow my laptop is to come on. My desktop is fast. Of course my laptop is 3 gb and the desktop is 8 gb. We like to play Hidden object games. We are members of a site where we pay 6.99 per month for a game a month. Can buy more if we want. We also are a member of one that gives free games. Well, my son said I had too many games on the computors. After we finish, a game, I move it to the desktop to keep my laptop load a little lighter. So he said we need an external drive to store them on. I got one. It is reallly cool, cause we can put the games on it, and just plug it in when we want to play. But here is the funny thing. It works fine for the free games. But the games we pay for, it won't let us do it. I figured once we pay for a game, it is our game. Our son said maybe they are afraid that we would download the game for other people, and so that is why we can't do it. I still think once we pay for it, it is ours. It will download to the external drive, but when we try to play it, it won't launch. You can buy those games at Walmart for about 10 dollars and you can share them with other people, because you own the game. So I just don't get why it doesn't work that way on the downloads.

;D It is called Copy Right infringement. Yes you bought the game but did not "buy" the right to copy it. There is an attachment which the owner added to the run program which prevents it from being copied. There are ways around it but I'm not smart enough to know how it is done.

ds, I LOVE the hidden object games, used to buy them from FishGames and Pop Cap. But then they stopped sending me the discs, I could only download them off the internet, didn't like that because if something happens after a year and you lose the game, you have to buy it again. Didn't think that was right. Discovered that if I keep looking, I can find the danged games like you said for $10 at WalMart, and have the disc, so that's what I do now. Also, don't get all their garbage/spyware when I don't download the game from them (FishGame and PopCap). I need to upgrade the memory on my puter, and get the external drive, another project for after the first of the year. :-D

Whoo hoo!!!!!!!!!! A hidden object buddy. ;D We love them. I started, then Dennis got into them. We decided to splurge and bought us a projector that plugs into the computor. We shine it on the wall and use laser pointers, so all can play. We have a lot of fun with them. Our daughter and grandkids soon got into them. Then our son even got into them. They are great. We are with big fish right now. But I just really wish I had a disc instead, but they have such a great selection. We are also with gamehouse. Gamehouse is really great. We don't have the "pay" membership, just the free one. Everyday, they offer a free game that you can download. They aren't always hidden object, but a lot of them are. The only drawback is that when you play the game, you have commercials in the game. But for a free game, it's ok to deal with that. They get on your nerves a bit, but they only last a few seconds, then you can x out of them. We have gotten some really great games from them for free. Funny thing is, those are the ones that will download to the external drive. I think our all time favorites are the Ravenhurst series. We loved ravenhurst. Then Madam fate is a small part of raven hurst. Dire Grove also mentions Ravenhurst.

I lost most of my games when my computer died last summer. Haven't got them replaced yet because I don't have the memory yet on this one. I miss playing them. My favorite is Night at the Museum, that one is REALLY hard for me, especially one section that took me a couple of weeks to get through, LOL. After I get more memory, I need to get that disc pulled out. I found that game at WalMart. I quit downloading from the game sites, even the free games, because I was getting so much spy ware and junk on my puter. That and they won't send the discs. After I get the memory increased, I'll be shopping for new games. The Women's Murder Club one is good too.
