If you don't have a crockpot, can be made in a large pot over low heat. Watch carefully that it doesn't burn. Usually ready in an hour or so by this method. Crockpot works best.
Beef N Beer - Crockpot recipe
2-3 lbs. boneless chuck, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. butter
2 onions, thinly sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 clove garlic, minced (can use powdered garlic to taste
2 c. beer
1/4 c. flour (to thicken stew)
Cook sliced onions in melted butter until translucent, remove to crockpot or other pot. Then, coat beef cubes with the 1/2 cup flour and brown in butter (add more butter if needed). Drain off excess fat. In Crock Pot, combine browned meat with onion, salt, pepper, garlic and beer. Cover and cook on low 5-7 hours (all day) until meat is tender. Turn control to high. Dissolve remaining 1/4 cup flour in small amount of water. Stir into meat mixture, cook on high 30-40 minutes.
Pour stew over hot rice or hot noodles, I like rice best. Serve with green salad and crusty french bread.

I've used different cuts of meat in this recipe, usually whatever kinda roast I find on sale, but no matter what you use, it comes out nice and tender.

Made a crockpot beef tip stew yesterday..First time I have tried it..It is very tasty and packaged by Tyson. It is called Slow Cooker Creations Beef Stew Kit..I added 1 cup of water extra and put more carrots in it. Also added a bell pepper to it....Only takes 5 minutes to prepare..

Oh yeah! Those are good too MC. I like to buy those on sale and keep a few in the freezer for the times during winter when we get an unexpected storm and I can't get to the store. Forgot to say, with the beef n beer, you can add a bit of worcestershire sauce too it too if ya want.
