When I was little and in girl scouts, we learned to make all kinds of outdoor cooking equipment out of nearly nothing. One of my favorites was the hobo stove. We made two versions, but the one with the buddy burner out of the tuna can was my favorite.
As I grew up I also taught my kids how to make these and we sometimes took them camping with us (big #10 can and a tuna can underneath filled with rolled up cardboard and wax). My kids got a kick out of them (so easily amused) and I wanted them to know how to easily cook even during a hope-it-never-happens disaster, when it appears there is nothing around to cook on.
I have even kept one around and a few of the 'burners' made up just in case of an outage or something. One time I actually had to use one. It was fast when the power went out and I had to warm a bottle for a goat.
But yesterday, I came across this little camp stove made out of pop cans:

It looks very time consuming to make, but it is very interesting, lightweight, and you sure can get a large pot to boiling fast!
THEN.....
(actually where I started the whole search mess), when I was looking up the health benefits of popcorn (I was trying to justify eating popcorn for dinner, lol) I found this adorable little Popcorn Maker made out of a pop can! It looks really simple. I am going to have to try it sometime. Might fascinate the grand kids, for a few minutes at least. I can hear the squeals and giggles now, lol.
