How often do you "clean" up your computor? I just do it occasionally. I've heard you should do it once a week. I defraged yesterday. What all do you do? I've heard about c cleaner. Since I have a new laptop, I want to keep it running smoothly. So how often and and what do you do to your computor?

Once per week I update my Virus scan Software and run a full virus Scan, Then run Disk Defragmenter, then run Disc cleanup, Then run Adaware and Spybot search and destroy. after all of that I shut down and reboot. My company policy is that I run a full back-up every week after all of the other clean-up. I can tell you in 15 years, I've had no trouble with anything virus or spyware wise in my computer, and I've only had one crash in all of those years. most of my computers have been replaced because they were outdated, not because they had any problems.

Wow, see I don't do all that I defrag once in awhile. I figured my viruse scans took care of stuff like that. I run Avast, some kind of microsoft spyware, malware, and firewall. Some say you can have too much protection that they fight each other. Hope that's not my case.
So I should defrag and use some kind of c cleaner each week? I've heard there is a free ccleaner. Are they as good as the pay ones/

Is Your Virus scan set to run Automatically? mine is not, but is capable.
As far as a ccleaner I wouldn't mess with it. It sounds like you have what you need, but if you want to be suire go to download.com And get anything you think you need, We use Adaware for Malware and spybot for spyware, both are fantastic and free.
there is no need to pay for either unless you get something really nasty, then download a trial of Counterspy from Sunbeltsoftware.com Counterspy will eliminate some really nasty stuff if you run into trouble. You can decide whether to pay for it or let the free trial expire.
