Wow, that is a big ole snake!!!!!! Sounds like you and me have lot in common. Instead of fighting the snakes, I just throw food to them too. If they are gonna hang out anyway, why not? By the way, snake stories drive Hilly crazy. He thinks I've lost my mind. You said you fish in flip flops? We fish in crocs, and most of the time, I kick them off and fish barefooted. If I know it's not real brushy, I even walk in the water barefooted. Yes, I am country through and through. But your stories sound like mine. I love it.

You don't walk in the water at this pond. I've saw the snakes come up out of the mud in the pond. I don't even wash my hands in the water. I carry water in a small bucket with me.

No I think the facts are you would catch way more fish with it than without it, I bet it would take 3 snakes just to check it out if it was a BWAB btw, we are horrible people for even bringin that up, I hope you two know that! ;D ;D

Back some years ago, I got to fish a new pond to me, sitting there watching my line, then looked around and seen seven snakes within about sisx foot of me, some on the bank, some on the land, packed up my stuff and ain't never went back there. Hope it wasn't a good fishin hole, but way to many snakes for my liking, one or two I can keep track of, but not that many, and wondered how many ore there was I didn't even see.

They had a den there close I bet. For that many to be in one area at the same time.

One time we were out in our little boat fishing a back creek in the brush. We looked up and saw a ball of snakes. It was spring. Didn't go to that spot again either.

I don't watch for snakes when we're out in the boat under trees. I watch for the spiders. Can't stand them, I don't care what kind they are. The best spider is a dead one.
I used to have 2 snakes for pets. Garter & Green snakes. Wayne & I used to get them out of their tanks. We dragged race them against each other for their exercises. It was awesome to watch them take off crawling side by side. They shed their skin I know of 3 times while I had them. Which meant they were healthy and getting what they needed in their diet.
My nephews use to catch snakes for me. They would put them in their Dads water jug, waiting on me to get there........ It was sort of strange opening the drinking spout of the water jug and a snake sticking his head out of it...... I never knew what they had caught to give me, it was something all the time.

Yeah, look kinda of awesome after the fact this head was coming out.
As you have figured out by now I'm not afraid of snakes. In fact spiders are the only thing I don't like or want around me at all.
