Well, I'm getting a little ansty waiting until Good Friday to plant the garden. I bought one of those "indoor greenhouses". The big ole tray where you can plant seedlings indoors. I did that last time we had a garden with my tomatoes. It ended up being cheaper than buying the plants. And they did beautiful that year. So I have jalapenos and tomatoes starting in the house.

I have not tried that . May give it a try this year on a few things. Still not sure about a large garden yet.

I have my TOMATOES planted already. I just have to get my marigolds planted with them now. Will do Orka, squash, watermelons, pumpkins soon. We love fresh pumpkin in my pumpkin pies & bread. So I have always raised them.

I planted lots of flower seeds yesterday. I am itching to get veggies in the ground. Dennis says to have patience that Good Friday is a week away. We will be doing pumpkins in our fall garden.

Still waiting on the weather here. 80s last week and 40s this week. Had a heavy frost yesterday morning. Temp was down to 21 @ 6:00 am. 70 outside now. Did cut grass yesterday and finished mulching the blackberries. Peach tree in full bloom and the trees are putting leaves out.

I keep forgetting everybody's weather isn't like mine.
I'll do pumpkins again this fall also. We eat a lot of pumpkin bread, pies and roasted pumpkins seeds. My family is big home grown and made eaters. I'll dry fruits as they come in season to have to eat on all year.(if I have time with all the school work). There's nothing like homemade food.

I thought I was going to lose my tomatoes, squash, & etc today. We had storms with hail & high winds here today. I put a tarp over my swing set frame, anchor it down with tent stakes. Had just got finished when the storm hit. Everything rode the storm out just great. My bell pepper plants have peppers on them the size of nickles, squash is loaded down with blooms. Tomatoes haven't got blooms yet tho. ;D ;D They're talking about the temperature dropping back down to normal for this time of year (7o daytime & 50 at night) next week so I think I may just leave one side of the tarp attached, so all I have to do is pull it back down and reattach it, for the frost we could get. :'

We are still subject to snow around here till the first of May. Several years ago it had been like what we have been having. Then on Good Friday April 19th it started snowing and on Easter morning there was 18 inches on the ground and still had traces of it till the end of May. That was in 1984. Was the end of May last year before we could put out anything around here.
