Well, we got our fall garden down last weekend. Just in time, I am starting to run out of squash in my freezer. We were gonna plant it in August, but pointless with triple digit temps. But I got a bit upset tonight. You see, we have some people down the road that have 2 large dogs that get out on a regular basis. When they get out, they fight with our dogs through the fence. I hate hate calling the dog catcher on people. But I have reached the point, I am gonna have to. Well, I went out to water the garden tonight, and there are large dog footprints all over the garden. Why can't people keep their dogs in? Grrrrr. Anyhew, we planted yellow squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, green beans and pumpkins. I hope the pumpkins come in by Halloween. They should at least make Thanksgiving. I have been wanting spaghetti squash so bad, love it. But at two dollars a pound, I refuse to buy it.

A bunch of years ago Dave had a paper route. He was passing papers and an unlicensed dog jumped him. He was wearing a heavy Carhart coat over a down filled vest and the dog still put a big bruise on his chest just below the shoulder. I called the sheriffs dept and they called thee dog catcher. The dog catcher came by the house the next day and said, I sold them a license. I called him and said, the dog is vicious I want it taken. The dog catcher told me I was crazy. He had also told me he came to town every Thursday afternoon. "The people know this and tie their dogs up on Thursday. I went to church with one of the county commissioners. I told him that I wasn't going to debate rather or not I was crazy but the dog catcher wasn't going to be the one that diagnosed me. At my request he changed the dog catchers schedule. The people started keeping there dogs under control after that. That is all I wanted. I had a dog bought a license ans kept her under control. Think everyone should.

Yeah, I notice people seem to let their dogs out to roam after 5 and on weekends.

I let Otis out whenever he wants.. ;D That doesn't count does it? Dogs do need to be controled at all times. The ones behind me comes to visit Otis or he goes back to visit them. None of them leave the property though nor do they get in the garden or flower beds. Glad that you got the fall garden out Dale.

Find yourself an Aussie Sheperd crossed with a chow. We had one and not only was he probably the best dog that ever lived, but if anything on four legs entered his territory he delivered lessons that would not be forgotten anytime soon. He might have been. Ollie chow cross we don't know, but really seemed more like Aussie Sheperd. Avoid friend of mine had a border collie red one hound cross that was almost as good of a dog as ours. Nothing ever trespassed on his property at least not near the house, and that dog kept ever varmint you could think of controlled on a 400 acre farm

Oh trust me, if my dogs were not fenced in like they should be, those dogs wouldn't be around. Our dogs go nuts when they are out and want to fight. I am just steaming this morning. We saw this ladies little girl stomping around in a neighbors garden yesterday. These people don't live even close, they are a ways down the alley. This morning we saw little girl footprints in our garden. Then, sure enough the dogs are out and have footprints in our garden. We have sprouts coming up all over it, and it is the worst time for this to be happening. It is fenced on 2 sides, we don't want to fence it all around, just easier to tend it. And like I say, they aren't even really close to us. But trust me, this isn't a lady to mess with. She is known to use drugs, both her and her husband know what a jail cell looks like.
