Today, I subbed in the 5th grade. We were doing a paper on WASPS. Not the insect, but the women who served in the war. So, at the end of the paper, they had to write a paragraph to sum up the story. One child wrote, "The Wasps helped serve in the war and fly airplanes. They assisted in teaching the men. Because women do things better then men" And it was a boy that wrote it!!!! I just smiled when I read it and was sharing it with the other teachers.
By the way, something that was in the article surprised me. It said the Wasps would pull a target behind airplanes to let the men take target practice!!!!!! I am sorry!!! No Way No how Uh huh!!!!! Not doing!!!! I am NOT letting anyone take target practice and worrying they might be a bad shot!!!!!
