The Spring tourney is now open, here are the rules. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SPRING FISHING TOURNEY RULES
1. Catfish World Catfish Tournament is open to any member with a VALID avatar as defined in the forum rules.
2. Tourney will start on April 1st, 2012 @12:01 A.M. and will end on October 31st, 2012 @ 11:59 P.M. (Eastern Time).
3. Members may continue to enter the tournament until 11:59 pm. July 31st 2012, all entries will be accepted based on Postmarked Date of Mailed entries, or date received of hand delivered entries.
4. All entries must Be submitted with Full name and mailing address of participant as well as catfish world User name.
5. It will be a (15) fifteen fish total weight caught by Rod and Reel ONLY. No other type of catch is permitted. All fish must be caught from public fishing waters in a legal manner. ( NO PAY LAKES or PRIVATE WATER FISHING PERMITTED).
6. All submissions must be posted within 72 hours of the date caught. ( NO SUBMISSIONS AFTER 11:59 P.M. on October 31st, 2012) Two photos will be required for each fish. One photo must show the member, fish and control item including the date and time. One photo must have the fish with scale weight showing, date, time and control item.( Date and time may be written on paper with the control item). All Channel Cats, Blue Cats, and White Cats must include at least one Photo that Clearly shows the Fish's anal Fin and Tail shape. You may submit more than the two minimum photo's if needed.
7. Fish weighing less than 1/2 lb will be rounded down; fish weighing 1/2 lb and above will be rounded up to the next lb. Points will be assigned as follows:
Blue Cats(Ictaluras furcatus) -------------2 points per lb.

( Tie breaker will be the earliest time of the last fish submitted by the ones involved in the tie )
8. Alternate species may be entered and can account for up to (7) seven of the fifteen fish entered. A Participant must enter at least 5 catfish before the end of the tournament (October 31st, 2012) in order for any Alternate species to be valid. In other words if you do not have at least 5 catfish entered by the end of the tourney none of your alternate fish will count.
Points will be awarded based on the following rates for all allowed species.
Carp, suckers, buffalo------- 1 point per pound
Black bass (Largemouth Smallmouth, spotted)----- 3 points per pound
Walleye, , and freshwater Drum----- 3 points per pound
Pike, and muskellunge -----1 point per pound
Striped bass ----- 2 points per pound
Crappie, bluegill, white bass (must clearly show stripes), sunfish, green and yellow perch, Rock Bass--------15 points per pound.
Lake Trout Steelhead and Salmon-------- 2 points per pound
Snakes------ 1 point per foot (Entries must be captured and held against measuring tape )
All species not listed are exempt, there will be no culling of alternate species fish.
9. Pay out will be 100% of the entry fees paid.( 50-30-20 if more than 6 entries; 60-40 of less than 6 entries ) Total money received will be posted for public viewing at all times.
Additional prizes will be announced and awarded based on Donations.
10. Entry fee is $20.00 paid by U.S. Postal Money Order OR Cash for hand delivered entries (Please do not mail cash).
Money order made payable to David Sullenberger, 2850 Lake Hollow rd Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Must be received by July 31st, 2012 ( see rule #13) . No name will be entered into the tournament until their entry Fee is received.
11. Catfish World, Staff or Members will not be held responsible for any accident while involved in this contest......
12. Participants may Cull 2 catfish at any time during the tournament, ONLY TWO CATFISH MAY BE CULLED.
13. When money is received, members name will be posted to the leader board. Each member will be assigned a control word or phrase. Members will be pm'd with their control item. In addition, your control word or phrase will be posted beside your name on the leader board. Remember the Control item must appear in the photo!!
14. Anyone caught violating the rules in any way, will be immediately removed from the tournament, and will forfeit all fees paid, their status as a Catfish world member will be evaluated by the Staff at that point and appropriate actions taken.
15. Any young family member of a CatFish World member, aged <13 years old, may enter this tourney with a paid fee. Any person over the age of 13 years who wishes to enter the tourney must become a valid catfishworld member.
