Seriously, I use Circles all the way. Took me awhile ta get used to em, but now I'm hooked. (no pun) Even got some 2/0s for bait fishing. But mostly I use 6/0s to 8/0s.

Best hook is all a matter of opinion and preference for each person. I personally love circles....specifically, Gammie Oct Circles. You will read/hear debates all the time from people using any style hook that they don't do as well on one as the other, or they miss fish because of one hook. I have noticed over the last couple years that a majority of the time someone is complaining about any style hook the problem isn't really with the hook. The problems lie with either the user not setting or allowing the fish to set properly, or the other problem is that the fish just simply aren't getting the hook into their mouth. In that case no matter what style hook you use, the result will be the same.
Another major problem I have noticed with cattin and hooks are the size of hook used. I only ramble on because it might help someone ;D I am guilty of this myself and have noticed with almost everyone I have fished with. When you start missing fish, it is natural to think the hook is too big or the bait is too big. The first thing we want to do is go to a smaller hook. I have found that going to a larger hook has increased my hookups greatly. I have actually caught more smaller channel catfish this year on 8/0 hooks using 4-6 inch live bluegill than I have on any other combo of hook size and bait. Opposite of what most people normally think......including myself. Maybe this will help someone else that gets in the situations I started to notice...maybe not. I feel better now ;D

I ilke to use the 6/0 Gamakatsu Inline Circle Hooks on a tight line rig for channel cats, if i am using larger sized live baits (bluegill) i will use a 8/0 size instead of the 6/0
